Orange County Utilities Continues Health and Environmental Focus with its Free Community Collection of Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Event
APOPKA – Orange County Utilities invites eligible Orange County residents* to its Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Community Collection Event on Saturday, October 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Orange County Services Building located at 1111 North Rock Springs Road, Apopka, FL 32712. Participants will have the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous and electronic waste – free of charge!
“The Household Hazardous Waste collection program was created in 1990 to increase the protection of the health and environment of Orange County and its citizens,” said Jim Becker, Manager of Orange County Utilities’ Solid Waste Division. “Each year we sponsor these community collection events to give citizens the opportunity to dispose of hazardous items at a location that is convenient for them.”

Participants are prohibited from bringing biologically active materials, radioactive materials, explosives, tires, or ammunition.
*Eligible participants include residents of unincorporated Orange County and the cities of Apopka, Ocoee, Orlando, Windermere, and Winter Garden only. Proof of residency is required.
