Orange County Utilities celebrates Water Conservation Month with freebies
Free Showerhead Exchange and Florida-Friendly Landscape Workshops
Orange County – Orange County Utilities will join several counties and utilities across the state of Florida as it recognizes Water Conservation Month in April. To celebrate, the department will host a showerhead exchange program and two Florida-Friendly landscape workshops, both free to its water customers. Detailed information on each program is listed below.
“Orange County Utilities’ water conservation efforts are important to both the department and the Orange County community,” said Jacqueline Torbert, Manager of Orange County Utilities Water Department. “April is our opportunity to celebrate these efforts by offering products and information that can help our customers both conserve water and save money on their water bill.”

Free Showerhead Exchange: OCU water customers can exchange their old, high-flow showerheads for new, low-flow devices. To receive a maximum of 3 showerheads, customers must bring in a recent OCU water bill and the devices that will be exchanged. Customers are also eligible to receive a maximum of 1 low-flow kitchen and 3 bathroom aerators to reduce consumption at the faucet. The devices can be exchanged at the following locations, dates, and times:

Free Florida-Friendly Landscape Workshops: Central Florida residents are invited to attend one of two workshops available to learn about the nine principles of Florida-Friendly landscaping. Participants will learn the importance of putting the right plant in the right place, how to irrigate efficiently by grouping plants based on watering needs, how to manage yard pests, and much more.
